The Brothers Comatose is still building steam on Respect The Van, released almost two years ago – accumulating fans and accolades.

Relix named them “Summer Stars” last year and they were a featured performer on CMT. They continue touring and hitting the festival circuit including: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Bristol’s Rhythm and Roots, Vancouver Folk Festival, Wakarusa and the Kate Wolf Festival to name just a few, with The Red Wing Music Festival and more on the horizon. The Brothers Comatose deliver a fierce live show, aimed at getting everyone dancing, clapping, making noise and letting loose. Utilizing the energy of a rock show, and the instrumentation of a classic bluegrass lineup, the band creates camaraderie and reverie with new and old fans alike. During their recent sold out tour opening for The Devil Makes Three, this all-acoustic, gritty Americana roots quintet had crowds stomping and clapping, winning over new fans with their infectious energy.

With just a short break before they tour with Yonder Mountain String Band, The Brothers Comatose will spend the rest of the spring zigzagging the US. On special occasions the set list will include “Morning Time,” a duet recorded with Nicki Bluhm.

The quintet with brothers Alex (banjo and vocals) and Ben Morrison (guitar and vocals), bonded at the Morrison family acoustic music parties before taking a youthful foray into punk and rock bands – ultimately circling back to the music they learned in that living room. They credit both beginnings for the attitude of their current music. With Phillip Brezina (fiddle) and Ryan Avellone (mandolin), and Ryan Lukas on bass – their music is not a wavering melange of assorted styles, but intense bluegrass-influenced folk rock.
